The beginning of a year two in BA (Hons) Fashion: September Arrives:

Over the summer period we were given work to complete in preparation of our first project Application of Design. We had to complete a research file on the chosen brand Miu Miu, and then to research three more of the similar ethos. I chose Chlóe, Catherine Malandrino and Margaret Howell. It is always good to develop your knowledge of existing designers, so this was interesting and beneficial.
The second part was to collect fabrics that you considered 'Miu Miu style'. I am fortunate enough to live in North London, so I was able to go to Soho and collect many different kinds of fabrics, - all for free might I add! This part of the project I enjoyed alot, I developed my knowledge of different fabrics, learnt the qualities and texture of them and now I have a file of fabrics for my own personal use.
By the end of first year, I felt that I knew what my weaknesses were i.e. pattern cutting, but had still not realised my strengths. Looking backa t first year I dont think I was the 'model' student. My attendance wasn't my best, but it wasn;t the face I was going out - because I wasn't! In ways I was probably the worst type of student. I just didnt want to do anything. I passed the year with a high 2:1 which isn't bad in all honesty but definately not my best. So At the start of this year, I was more determined to improve skills and realise my strengths, at with this in mind I went into the first module with enthusiasm.

Realising my potential was the best lesson I learnt that year...

GOODBYE AND GOODRIDENCE FOR YOU MILLINERY:

Let me just say now,
I have never been happier to say goodbye to that module.
Second time round, I decided I'm gonna try and get a better mark (event though first year I definately deserved better) I didn't want to take the chance and tried harder.

Did it pay off? NO.
53% or 56% a grade so bad it's not worth knowing the exact number.
Could not be more angry.

Why when making the hat was I told to put feathers on (which was my original idea) to then receive feedback saying the "feathers don't work"....
ANSWER ANYONE?
